EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma-focused therapy that helps you process and heal from past experiences that may still be affecting you today. By using a combination of guided eye movements and bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories in a safe and controlled way. This therapy has been shown to be highly effective for those struggling with trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and other emotional challenges, helping you move from distress to healing.
Who It’s For: EMDR therapy is ideal for individuals who have experienced trauma or are dealing with painful memories that continue to impact their daily lives. Whether you’re struggling with childhood trauma, recent traumatic events, or anxiety and stress, EMDR can help you process those experiences and find emotional relief. It’s also beneficial for those who feel “stuck” in their healing process or find it difficult to talk about their trauma.
What to Expect: EMDR is an evidence based approach to treating trauma and other mental health issues with a large body of supportive evidence! During EMDR therapy, we’ll begin by identifying specific memories or experiences that are causing distress. I’ll guide you through a series of eye movements and other forms of bilateral stimulation while you focus on those memories, allowing your brain to reprocess the information in a way that reduces emotional charge. As we move through each stage of EMDR, you’ll begin to notice less emotional reactivity to the memories, and more healing in both your mind and body. Sessions will be paced according to your comfort and readiness, and I’ll provide tools for self-regulation as needed.
